Reading Lamp

Reading Lamp was a student project to design and manufacture a small production run of lamps using OLED light panels. At the time of this project, OLED lighting panels were a new technology and only twelve other designers have used them for this purpose. Reading Lamp was created by upcycling old books that were going to be thrown away.

Reading Lamp took advantage of the cavity it had to hide most of the electronics that powered the OLED panels, allowing the custom made cord to have a more consistent look.

A total of twelve(12) were made and all were sold by the end selling period, eventually leading to people asking for custom orders made from their favorite books

Project was part of RIT curriculum.
The success in this class secured a TA position for the class the next year.
